Drone Survival Test
A downloadable game
Collect Waypoints before the drone overheats and dies.
Use the sparse water to cool yourself off.
2 suns, big warm, watch yourself.
Working on this, I went pretty much as straight to the point with the "oasis" theme as I could, hopping between safe spots to ensure the player's survival. Since the limitation was "perma-death" I stuck with the basics of removing the player's prior progress, although I still wanted to keep track of the player's time somehow, so I went with the premise of "testing drones," that way I could just count up the number of attempts.
I wanted to work on improving some things Ive historically been bad with, mostly terrain tools in unity, along with brushing up on shaders. Seems to have gone well enough, and at least I know how to do this for next time. It all ended up a bit more flexible than I was worried it would be. The water shader and the steam/smoke shader were probably the hardest parts for me, took a while to write them up. The skybox was also quite the challenge, I ended up having to feed the sun directions in with a color input on the shader.
I still need to work on my use of sound though, maybe next time.

Maybe add a couple slow enemies so that there's a drawback to just walking everywhere, also there is a bit of foot slide.
That would make sense.
And yeah didnt really sync up the animations too well.
